Ratlam: In a horrific incident, the family members of a girl allegedly tied a 17-year-old boy to a tree, shaved his head, and then beat him to death after catching him meeting the girl at a temple premises near her house in the Namli area of Ratlam district of western Madhya Pradesh.

The incident occurred in Mesava village, where a boy from a different caste, in a relationship with a minor girl, was called to meet her and was caught by her parents around 11 p.m. on Friday, as reported by The New Indian Express.

The victim's brother stated that he came to know about the incident on Saturday morning. “We are from the neighbouring village. When I arrived, I found my brother lying dead near a house close to the temple. Locals told me he was first tied to a tree, his head was forcibly tonsured, and then he was beaten to death. His head bore deep wounds.” TNIE quoted him as saying.

The boy and girl were former classmates, and their close friendship had allegedly developed into a romantic relationship.

Four individuals have been taken into custody, and further investigation is currently underway.

Jamshedpur (PTI): One person was arrested on the charge of raping a 30-year-old woman with speech impairment in Jamshedpur, a police officer said on Tuesday.

The incident occurred in the Azadnagar police station area of the city, and a case in this regard was registered based on the statement of the victim's brother on Monday.

The victim had gone to fetch water from the premises of a company on Monday evening. When she did not return even after a considerable time, family members went out in search of her and caught the accused red-handed, police said.

The accused was a caretaker of the company.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (Patamda) Bachandeo Kujjur said due to scarcity of water in the area, the victim used to fetch water from the premises of the company.
