Indore (MP): The Indore Bench of the Madhya Pradesh HC has recently reduced the sentence of a rape convict of a 4-year-old minor girl to 20 years of imprisonment. The reduction came as the court observed that the convict had not killed the minor victim after the crime.

The decision to reduce the life imprisonment to 20 years imprisonment was pronounced by a bench that comprised Justice Subodh Abhyankar and Justice SK Singh.

The Bench said it did not find any fault in the conviction of the accused but found it fit to extend him the benefit and reduced sentence.
