Mumbai: Dead body found in luggage during check at railway station; Two arrested
Mumbai: The Mumbai Police on Tuesday apprehended two people for carrying a dead body in a suitcase at Dadar station in Mumbai after committing the murder, ANI reported.
The Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) found the body inside a suitcase during a luggage-checking operation on Monday morning.
The accused have been identified as Jai Praveen Chavda and Shivjeet Surendra Singh. According to the police, the primary suspect had a dispute with the victim, Arshad Ali Sheikh, a Santacruz resident, over a female acquaintance. The victim was invited to the suspect's house for a party, where the fight escalated to murder. The body was wrapped in plastic and packed in the suitcase, the police added.
Upon interrogation, it was revealed that the murder took place in the jurisdiction of Pydhunie Police Station.
The Dadar Railway Police have registered a case and further investigation is underway.
