Khargone: In what has brought disgrace to the Shivraj Singh Chouhan led Madhya Pradesh administration, one of the “stone-pelter” identified by MP police and whose shop was razed by the administration, had his hands amputated in 2005.
The Madhya Pradesh administration has been flaunting its act of demolishing the houses and shops selectively belonging to Muslims identified by the cops as “stone-pelters”.
According to journalist Kashif Kakvi, Wasim Shaikh was one of those unfortunate Muslims, who faced the brutality from the administration.
Kakvi shared the photo of Shaikh and wrote, “#KhargoneRiot Terming him a “stone pelter”, a gumti (shop) of Wasim Shaikh was razed by @CollecterK on April 11. Shaikh’s hand were amputated in 2005 after he sustained injuries from electric current. Father of two, Shaik has a family of 5 to feed. Yet, admin razed his shop.”
The action by the Madhya Pradesh government was reportedly taken based on First Information Reports (FIR) filed by police after witnesses and victims filed complaints.
Reacting to the BJP government’s brutality, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi wrote, “BJP’s Hindutva ideology has no place for humanity. It’s the State Government’s arms of Law that have been amputated. It feels powerful after making poor people poorer & homeless. It has an obsession with giving extrajudicial collective punishment to the Muslim community.”
"Jis admi ko khana aur pani dusre log khilate hai, wo patthar kaise phek sakta hai" Waseem was quoted as saying.
In similar instance, three Muslim men who were in jail since March 5 were named on the list of Ram Navami riot-accused persons in Khargone. Following the riots that took place on Sunday, the house of one of the men accused of rioting was demolished on 11 April, along with 16 other houses.
The people who are named in the case are Shabaz, Fakru, and Rauf. The three were falsely charged for rioting in Khargone during Ram Navami celebrations on 10 April.
According to a report by the NDTV, the trio has been in jail since their arrest last month but has been accused of setting a motorbike on fire on April 10 in Sendhwa of Barwani district. They have been charged with rioting at the same police station where they were charged with attempted murder.
When asked about the lapse, the police officials at Barwani said that the case was filed based on the statement of the complainant.

Bengaluru (PTI): Two men were arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting two minor girls, recording the acts on mobile phones and uploading the videos online as child sexual abuse material, police said on Thursday.
The accused have been identified as Kiran Kumar (29), hailing from Chitradurga district, and Aditya M K (20), hailing from Shivamogga district, they said.
A probe was initiated after information was received from the NCRP portal regarding a suspected instance of creation of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) for online dissemination, police said.
Accordingly, a case was registered at Kaggalipura Police Station under relevant sections of the IT Act on May 10, they added.
Investigation revealed that two minor girl victims were exploited and videos were created and uploaded to the internet. The child victims have subsequently recorded their statements as per procedure and further necessary legal steps have been taken, Pronab Mohanty Director General of Police, Cyber Command, said in a statement.
Based on the statements of the victims, the accused persons, who allegedly assaulted the minors, recorded the acts on mobile phones and uploaded the videos online, were arrested, he said.
Following the probe, sections 65(2) (rape) and 70 (gangrape) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with relevant sections of the POCSO Act, have been added to the FIR, police said.
Officials collected relevant information and on May 12, arrested the accused persons and seized three mobile phones belonging to them, in which the videos had allegedly been recorded, he said.
The accused were later produced before the court and taken into police custody for further investigation, he added.
According to him, in CSAM cases, police usually apprehend offenders who have downloaded such content or have kept them in their possession after obtaining them from elsewhere, usually the internet.
"The present case is one of the very few instances where content creators and uploaders have been apprehended," Mohanty added.
