New Delhi: Spiritual preacher Jaya Kishori, known for her teachings on non-materialism and detachment, is facing criticism online after being spotted with a high-end calfskin bag worth over Rs 2 lakh at an airport. The 29-year-old preacher was seen in a video clip, now viral on social media, carrying a Dior Book Tote, which, according to the brand’s website, is crafted from cotton with a calfskin lining.

Many social media users took issue with Kishori’s choice of a luxury item containing animal-derived material, which they view as contradictory to her spiritual teachings. One user on the platform ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) remarked, “Spiritual preacher Jaya Kishori deleted her video where she was carrying a Dior bag worth ₹ 2,10,000. She preaches non-materialism and calls herself a devotee of Lord Krishna. Dior uses calf leather for their bags.”

Another user commented, “Jaya Kishori tells people not to be materialistic, yet she herself uses a luxury bag costing over Rs 2 lakh. Most of these preachers are like this, using our religion to profit and live a lavish life.”
