New Delhi: The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Wednesday afternoon held a press conference and confirmed that one of the IAF jet Mig 21 was shot down and its pilot is missing in action.

MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar, while addressing the reporters here added "The Pakistan on Wednesday mornign responded to the anti-terrorist operation by IAF on Tuesday on Jaish-e-Mohammed training camps in Pakistan.Due to our readiness and preparedness, Pakiatan's attempts were foiled successfully".

"The IAF detected PAF in Indian airspace and responded instantly and shot down Pakistan jet fighter, by a Mig 21 of IAF, the Pakistani aircrafts were seen by the ground forces falling into the Pakistan territory" he added.

He also confirmed that one of IAF's Mig 21 is lost in this engagement and one IAF pilot is missing in action.

"In this engagement one we have lost one Mig 21 of IAF and a pilot is missing in action, Pakistan has claimed that he is in their custody, we are ascertaining the facts" he said.

Raveesh who was accompanied by IAF Vice Air Marshal RGK Kapoor, did not not take any questions from the reporters.

Dhanbad (Jharkhand) (PTI): At least four workers died after being buried under coal slurry in Jharkhand's Dhanbad district on Saturday, a police official said.

The incident took place at Moonidih coal washery in the command area of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL).

"Bodies of all four workers were dug out of debris during a rescue operation," Putki police station in-charge Waqar Hussain told PTI.

The incident took place when coal slurry was being loaded into trucks by workers, during which a large chunk of slurry fell and trapped several workers underneath, officials said.

The deceased have been identified as Manik Bauri, Dinesh Bauri, Deepak Bauri, and Hemlal Gope.

Meanwhile, the family members of the deceased and local villagers placed the bodies in front of the washery gate and began a protest.

They demanded compensation, jobs for dependents and action against those responsible for the incident.

Police and administration officials are trying to pacify the protesters, an official said.
