Patna: In a horrifying incident, a 14-year-old boy who had gone into the Ganga to conduct a ritual and collect gangajal for his new motorcycle, was eaten alive by a crocodile in Bihar on Tuesday.
This angered the villagers which led them to yank the crocodile out of water and kill it. In a video that has become viral on social media shows the mob brutally thrashing the reptile with sticks and rods.
The deceased, Ankit Kumar, was a Class 5 student from Raghopur Diyara in Bihar’s Vaishali district. When the family was bathing in the river, the crocodile attacked and dragged Ankit below the water, tearing him into pieces and eating him alive.
The boy’s family managed to pull out his remains from the water after an hour. As crowd gathered on the river bank, they trapper the crocodile and killed it.
Amita Raj, District Forest Officer, has said that an investigation is underway. Action will be taken against the those who violated the Wildlife Protection Act, she added.

Mumbai, May 10 (PTI): Amid heightened security concerns in the country, the Sai Baba temple trust at Shirdi in Maharashtra has decided not to allow garland, bouquets and shawls to brought inside the temple complex.
The famous temple which draws millions of devotees every year had received a threatening email last week.
Goraksh Gadilkar, a member of the Sai Baba Sansthan Trust, said devotees will be searched before entering the temple.
"The Sansthan received a threat email on May 2. In view of India-Pakistan tensions and the security alert across the country, flowers, garlands, prasad and shawls will not be allowed inside," he told PTI.
The Ahilyanagar district police have also made some suggestions to enhance the security of the temple.
On Friday, the Siddhivinayak temple in Mumbai said it will not allow garlands, prasad and coconuts inside from May 11.
