Retired cop beaten to death in public view in Allahabad
Allahabad, Sep 04 : A retired police inspector was beaten to death by some miscreants over a land dispute in Uttar Pradesh’s Allahabad. Miscreants started thrashing the retired policeman with wooden sticks in broad daylight. Later, the retired cop succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Whole incident was recorded by the CCTV camera. The police are investigating the matter from all angles.

23-year-old man shot dead in Jharkhand's Chatra
Chatra (PTI): A 23-year-old man was allegedly shot dead in Jharkhand's Chatra district, police said on Saturday.
The incident happened near Dhamdhama village on the Chatra-Simariya Road on Friday when the deceased, identified as Karamjeet Kumar alias Vikas Saw, was returning home from court after recording his statement in a case, they said.
"Four rounds were fired, two of which hit him," said Awadhesh Kumar Singh, the in-charge of the Sadar police station.
Efforts are being made to identify those behind the shooting, he said.
