New Delhi: Sanjiv Bhatt’s wife Shweta Bhat on Monday posted a touching message on Facebook to mark four years of her husband Sanjiv Bhatt’s “wrongful and vindictive” imprisonment.
Shweta, in her post, added that Sanjiv Bhatt was arrested by the current regime four years ago with the sole purpose of silencing him “once and for all”.
She further added that Sajiv has been imprisoned “wrongfully and vindictively” under trumped-up charges and has been convicted by a politically motivated “vitiated trial”.
“Today marks 4 years of Sanjiv being wrongfully and vindictively imprisoned under trumped up charges... convicted by a politically motivated vitiated trial, without any iota of proof.” She wrote in her post.
Shweta also expressed her despair and added “For the rest of the world, it may just be 4 years .. but for us, it has been 1462 days, 35,088 hours of fighting this vicious regime day and night.” (sic)
“It has been 4 years of us being torn apart as a family, 4 lightless diwali's, 4 bleak new years, 16 birthdays which only acted as a reminder of yet another year having passed when justice was not delivered, 2 graduations which felt meaningless and an infinite number of moments spent every day missing Sanjiv.” Shweta’s post further read.
Shweta concluded the post with strong-worded lines and added that even with all the sufferings and plights Sanjiv has remained unbroken and unbent and that he is stronger than ever in his spirit to fight the fascist regime.
“Like Sanjiv would say, "This is a fight to the finish", and fight we will, till justice is delivered. It is 4 years today... while Sanjiv remains unbroken, unbent, unbowed... stronger than ever in his spirit and resolve... our fight for justice against this fascist regime continues.” It added.
She also shared their family picture with the post wherein Sanjiv can be seen with her and their two children.

Hyderabad (PTI): A day after the Telangana High Court refused to grant interim relief to Bandi Bageerath, who has been booked under a POCSO case, his father and Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Saturday said he has asked his son to appear before the police and join the probe.
In a statement, Bandi Sanjay said he had asked his son to cooperate with the police soon after the complaint was registered last week.
However, Bageerath, who has been repeatedly maintaining that he has done no wrongdoing, presented evidence in his favour to his lawyers, the union minister said.
According to Bandi Sanjay, the lawyers opined that the case would be quashed and that Bageerath would get bail, which led to the delay.
