New Delhi: Popular singer Shantanu Mukherjee, also known as Shaan by his stage name, slammed trollers who criticised him for wishing “Eid Mubarak” dressed in Muslim Attire. On April 22, singer Shaan shared a picture quoting Eid wishes, on Instagram wearing a skull cap as he wrote "Eid Mubarak to You and Your Family."
In the meantime, his beautiful gesture triggered some right-wingers who flocked social media platforms trolling him for wishing Eid Mubarak. They criticized him for dressing up in Muslim attire despite being a Hindu.
“I have to unfollow u”, a netizen said.
“Ye muslim kab se ban gya, i thought he is Bengali”, another commented. (When did he become Muslim, i thought he is Bengali)
However, Shaan reacted to the hate and criticism received by trollers. In a video posted by Shaan soon after posting the ‘Eid Mubarak’ post, he said, he was disappointed by the mindset of trollers and did not expect this.
In the video, Shaan said he initially thought about ignoring the hateful comments but they continued, which led him to create the video to address and clarify the situation.
He clarified that the photo was captured three years ago from his music video titled Karam Karde.
“Usme ye Look Tha.. toh socha it goes with the occasion.. bas itni si baat” (It had this look, so I thought it goes well with the occasion), he wrote.
He further appealed to people to change their mindset and respect all religions. He also claimed that despite being a Hindu and proud Bhramin he was always taught to respect and celebrate all festivals.
"Since childhood, I was taught to celebrate all festivals and respect every religion. This is what I believe in and this is what every Indian should believe in too. Baaki aapki soch aapko Mubarak,"the singer said.
He referred to India as the “Mother of Democracy” and requested people to not have polarized thoughts as it only causes damage.

Bengaluru: Bengaluru experienced its coldest December night in eight years, with the minimum temperature dropping to 13.3 degrees Celsius on December 13, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
According to the report published by The New Indian Express on Tuesday, IMD data shows that this is the lowest minimum temperature recorded in the city since 2016. The all-time lowest December temperature in Bengaluru was 8.9 degrees Celsius on December 29, 1883. In recent years, the city recorded 12 degrees Celsius in December 2016 and 12.8 degrees Celsius in December 2011.

IMD officials reportedly said, day temperatures in Bengaluru and other parts of south-interior Karnataka will dip further in the coming days. They also forecast light drizzle in some parts of the region over the next few days.
“There will be a slight rise in night time temperatures from Monday, December 15, 2025, because of the prevailing south easterly winds. These winds will lead to the formation of a thin cloud cover and layer of water vapour over the atmosphere. The moisture level in the atmosphere will increase, leading to a dip in the day temperatures and a slight rise in the night temperatures from the prevailing 14 degrees Celsius,” TNIE quoted IMD senior scientist CS Patil as saying.
However, once these winds weaken, northerly and north-easterly winds are expected to return, which could lead to another drop in night temperatures. Officials allegedly said that Karnataka may see a longer and drier winter spell this year compared to previous seasons.
