Sourav Ganguly's daughter speaks out against Kolkata rape-murder at candlelight protest
Kolkata: Former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly joined a candlelight protest in Kolkata on Wednesday, demanding justice for the doctor who was allegedly raped and murdered at a state-run hospital earlier this month.
Ganguly was accompanied by his wife, Odissi dancer Dona Ganguly, and their daughter, Sana Ganguly, during the rally held in the Behala area, where they reside.
Speaking to the media, Sana expressed her outrage, stating, "We want justice, this has to stop. Every day we hear about some rape case, and it's heartbreaking that this is still happening in 2024. This has to stop."

Unattended bag at RG Kar hospital triggers panic
Kolkata, Sep 12: An unattended bag at the R G Kar Medical College and Hospital here triggered panic on Thursday, following which a bomb disposal squad rushed to the spot.
According to TV visuals, the bomb disposal squad along with sniffer dogs were investigating the site, the place where the junior doctors have been protesting since August 9. Presently, the spot is vacant as the medics are protesting outside Swasthya Bhavan in Salt Lake.
According to police sources, no evidence of any harmful objects has been recovered yet.
"The bomb disposal squad is inspecting the bag," a police official said.
