New Delhi (PTI): SpiceJet will operate 13 special flights from the UAE on Thursday to facilitate the return of passengers stranded due to the Middle East conflict.

"Of the 13 flights, 12 will operate from Fujairah and 1 will operate from Dubai. The airline will operate seven special flights to Mumbai, five special flights to Delhi and one special flight from Dubai to Mumbai," it said in a statement on Thursday.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, the airline said it operated 12 special flights from Fujairah to Delhi, Mumbai and Kochi.

The escalating conflict involving the US, Israel and Iran in the Middle East have significantly disrupted flight operations, leaving a large number of passengers stranded in various cities.

Bengaluru: The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has announced a temporary suspension of metro services on a section of the Purple Line on April 5 due to maintenance work.

According to an official release, metro services will be suspended for two hours from 7:00 am to 9:00 am between Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station (Majestic) and Mysuru Road Metro Station. The disruption is due to essential maintenance work being carried out between Vijayanagar and Attiguppe stations.

However, services on all other sections of the network will operate as per schedule. These include:
* Challaghatta to Mysuru Road
* Majestic to Whitefield (Kadugodi)
* Madavara to Silk Institute
* R.V. Road to Bommasandra

Metro services between Majestic and Mysuru Road will resume normal operations after 9:00 am.

BMRCL has requested commuters to take note of the temporary disruption and plan their travel accordingly.
