Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has expressed confidence that voters in South India will significantly dent BJP's seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Stalin criticized the BJP for its actions through governors in states ruled by opposition parties and for reigniting the Katchatheevu island dispute unnecessarily.
Stalin framed the upcoming elections as a battle of ideologies, highlighting the DMKs belief in social justice, equality, democracy, fraternity, and secularism against the BJP's ideology. He also criticized the AIADMK for surrendering to the BJP due to what he called "ideological bankruptcy."
Responding to a question about countering the BJP's efforts to strengthen its presence in South India, Stalin pointed out that the BJP's influence is reducing in the North as well. He highlighted the challenges faced by various segments of society under the Modi government, including the poor, farmers, businessmen, housewives, students, fishermen, and youth, due to what he described as the BJP's anti-people policies leading to unemployment and inflation.
