New Delhi: BJP leader Subramanian Swamy has raised questions about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's eligibility to perform the opening puja of the Ram Mandir, which is scheduled to be completed on January 22 in Ayodhya.

In a statement on 'X,' Swamy expressed concerns about allowing Modi, who has separated from his wife, to participate in the Pran Prathishta Puja of the Ram Lala murti.

"How can we, as devotees of Lord Ram, allow Modi to join the performance of the Pran Prathishta Puja of the Ram Lala murti in Ayodhya, when Ram spent almost one and a half decades and waged a war to rescue his wife Sita? Modi is known for abandoning his wife, and yet he will do the puja," Swamy wrote in his tweet.
