New Delhi: In a recent development, the Supreme Court has intervened in the Karnataka board exams for classes 5, 8, 9, and 11, putting a hold on the results. The Court expressed concerns over the state government's decision, stating that it is causing distress to students, parents, teachers, and school management.

The Court's decision came in response to petitions filed by the Registered Unaided Private Schools Management Association Karnataka and others challenging the state's decision to conduct board exams. The petitioners argued that the High Court's order allowing the exams disregarded the Right to Education Act.

The Supreme Court observed that the state government's actions appeared to be in violation of the Right to Education Act and ordered that the results of the board exams be kept in abeyance. The Court also issued a notice to the respondent state, returnable in two weeks, and stayed the operation of the High Court's order until further notice.

This decision follows a series of orders over the conduct of board exams in Karnataka, with the High Court initially allowing the exams and later reversing its decision. The Supreme Court has now intervened to ensure that the future of students is not compromised.
