Patna, March 13: Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav on Monday alleged that the Enforcement Directorate had finished its raid at his Delhi house last week "in half an hour" but its officials stayed on at his hours awaiting "clearance from above".

Talking to reporters outside the state assembly, Yadav also rubbished the ED's claim of detecting proceeds of crime amounting to Rs 600 crore and alleged that "used jewellery" of his married sisters and their in-laws was photographed and shown as "recovery".

"Be it Union Home Minister Amit Shah or anybody else, the director who repeats the same script for these agencies must now be changed", the RJD leader said mockingly.

"We are not, like the BJP-RSS, students of entire political science. We are practitioners of real politics and have the conviction and public support to take them on. But they are scared and are trying to run away from the political battle", added Yadav.

Kalaburagi: A case of suspected suicide due to debts was reported from Huligera village, where a 24-year-old farmer allegedly hanged himself on Thursday night, reportedly unable to repay borrowed money.

The young farmer, identified as Prakash Ravindra Jamdar, was a resident of Huligera village, situated within the jurisdiction of Kalagi Police Station.

On Thursday, when Prakash had not returned home from his fields by 9 pm, his family grew worried and went looking for him. His body was found hanging from a tree in his fields, located on the road to Hippargi village.

Sources have said that Prakash had taken a loan of Rs 80,000 from Ratkal Bank and Rs 5 lakh from private lenders but had been struggling to repay the loans after his crops failed. He is suspected to have taken his life due to his inability to clear the debts.
