Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Friday launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Bihar, accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of indulging in "double standards" over the controversy surrounding non-vegetarian feasts during the Hindu holy month of Sawan.
In a post on social media platform X, Yadav mockingly outlined what he claimed to be the Prime Minister’s itinerary, alleging he would begin by "honouring leaders who hold mutton parties during Sawan” and will “publicly showcase the hypocrisy of his sermons.”
"He will blame uncontrolled crime in Bihar on governments from five decades ago. He will unleash such a heavy downpour of 'jumlas' (rhetoric) that even Lord Indra will be embarrassed," Tejashwi Yadav wrote in Hindi.
Continuing his criticism, the Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly said the Prime Minister would refrain from clarifying whether Chief Minister Nitish Kumar would remain the National Democratic Alliance’s face post-election.
“He will excessively use words like Jungle Raj, Opposition, Lalu Prasad, RJD, Muslims, etc," the former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister added.
Yadav also shared a cartoon image depicting PM Modi with a note that read: "Bihar bado bado ko deta hai sudhar, dekho! Ye dikhane lage hain pyaar. Fir aa rahe hain Bihar." (Bihar teaches the mighty a lesson. See! Now he is pretending to show love. He is coming back to Bihar again.)
Assembly elections in Bihar are most likely to be held later this year.
