TV actor Pearl Puri held for allegedly raping girl
Mumbai: Police have arrested TV actor Pearl Puri from Mumbai for allegedly raping a girl, an official said on Saturday.
The Mira Bhayandar-Vasai Virar (MBVV) police arrested him on Friday night with the help of the personnel of Amboli police station, he said.
The complaint against Puri, known for his roles in "Naagin 3", "Bepanah Pyaar" and "Brahmarakshas 2" serials, was lodged by the minor victim and her family members, he added.
Based on the complaint, an FIR against him was registered at Waliv police station in Vasai, the official said.
The actor has been booked under IPC section 376 (rape) and sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, police said.

Mangaluru: Senior Financial Controller of Zayed Foundation in UAE, Abdulla Madumoole has been appointed President of SDM College Ujire Global Alumni Association.
The new Executive Committee elected Abdulla Madumoole as the President while Dr. Yashowarma was made Honorary President. Rajesha Bengrodi of Dubai is the new General Secretary of the committee while Dinesh Hegde –USA has been appointed the Vice President.
Among other office bearers are, Treasurer Roshan Pinto –Dubai, Secretary Kiran Kumar, Malaysia, and Secretary Information Technology Sharath Paligi – Germany.
Dr. Veerendra Heggade will be Patron of the SDMCU Global Alumni Association.
Mohammed Kutubuddin, Laxmikanth Muscat, Shruthi, Australia, Chetana Hegde Bahrain, Abdul Khadar Veerakamba are the new executive committee members of the association.
The association has lined up a series of activities that it will undertake to reach more alumni of the college and to organise webinars to connect with them.
