Uttar Pradesh : Woman who alleged gangrape succumbs to burns
Lucknow, Aug 31 : A woman who set herself and her minor son afire alleging Uttar Pradesh police's failure to act against her rapists succumbed to her injuries on Friday, police said.
Her son has sustained 15 per cent burns, the police added.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shahjahanpur, Shivasimpi Chanappa, said three policemen have been suspended and a case has been registered against three accused involved in the gangrape. One person has also been arrested, the SSP said.
In her dying declaration on Thursday, the woman alleged that the police did not register an FIR on her complaint.
Her husband alleged that the police demanded money for registering an FIR. "Based on her dying declaration, more steps are being taken against the guilty policemen," said the SSP.

Not confident ceasefire in Gaza will hold: US President Donald Trump
Washington (AP): US President Donald Trump said Hamas is weakened, but he's hardly certain that the temporary truce between Israel and Hamas will hold.
“I'm not confident,” Trump told reporters. “That's not our war. It's their war.”
He said that his administration “might” help rebuild Gaza, which he compared to a “massive demolition site.”
“Some beautiful things could be done with it,” said Trump, the real estate developer turned commander in chief, noting the territory's coastline and “phenomenal” weather and location. “Some fantastic things could be done with Gaza. Some beautiful things could be done with Gaza.”
