Donimalai: NMDC Limited, a major iron ore mining company having its mining projects i.e. Donimalai & Kumaraswamy and Pellet Plant at Donimalai Complex has conducted an interactive session on “Preventive Vigilance and Case Studies” related to Public Procurement, Works & Services and awareness on PIDPI (Public Interest Disclosure & Protection of Informer Resolution) was conducted for its executives to draw the importance of transforming organisation from ‘Good Corporate Governance company’ to Ethical Corporate Governance Company.
The said program started with the welcoming of the Shri B.Vishwantha, IRSS, CVO, NMDC Ltd by Shri Sanjeev Sahi, Chief General Manager DIOM Complex Donimalai, other senior officials and Trade Union leaders. The event began with a video message by Shri Amitava Mukherjee CMD (Additional Charge), NMDC Ltd for its executives, wherein it was stressed upon to encourage all executives to take ownership of their works, nurture their skills and ensure that decision making is informed and in compliance to the guidelines.
During the session, CVO informed the gathering that many activities across the company have been scheduled for the capacity building of the executives and one such session organised at Donimalai Complex was prelude to forthcoming Vigilance Awareness Week 2023. Later, emphasized the role of vigilance in maintaining transparency and accountability in the public procurement process. The various case studies were discussed at large to ensure that the public resources are to be utilized efficiently and promoting ethical conduct among the officials and citizens alike.

Mumbai (PTI): Police have arrested a man and seized over 500 grams of heroin worth Rs 2.54 crore in the illicit market from him in Mumbai, officials said on Friday.
The police's Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) made the drug seizure in Santacruz in the western suburbs. The operation was conducted by the Kandivali unit of the ANC on Thursday as part of a special crackdown against drug trafficking in the area, they said.
Acting on specific inputs, an ANC team conducted a raid in Santacruz (East) and intercepted a man. During a search, the team recovered 508 grams of high-grade heroin from his possession, an official said.
The seized contraband, a highly addictive, opioid drug derived from morphine, is estimated to be worth Rs 2.54 crore in the international market, he informed.
Following the seizure, a case was registered against the man under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, and he was formally placed under arrest in the early hours of Friday.
The police are currently investigating the source of the drug and trying to identify the intended recipients of the consignment, he said.
