Srinagar, June 21: Jammu and Kashmir Governor N.N. Vohra has called an all-party meeting here on Friday to discuss the security situation in the state, officials said here on Thursday.

The officials said for the all-party meeting, called in the wake of imposition of the Governor's rule, invitations have been sent to heads of state units of national political parties.

After assuming the reins of administration in the state, this will be Vohra's first interaction with politicians of mainstream political parties.

Following the withdrawal of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from the Mehbooba Mufti-led PDP-BJP ruling coalition, the state was put under the Governor's rule under Article 92 of the state constitution.

Jammu (PTI) Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Jammu on Friday night ahead of the hectic day-long campaigning on Saturday during which he will address five public rallies in three districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

Shah arrived here from Delhi and drove straight to the State Guest house, a senior BJP leader said.

Shah will fly to Poonch early tomorrow morning and address the first of four rallies in Mendhar followed by Surankote in Poonch district, he added.

Shah is scheduled to address rallies in Thanamandi and Rajouri followed by Akhnoor in Jammu.

He is also expected to hold a rally in the Nowshera constituency in support of Jammu and Kashmir BJP president Ravinder Raina on Sunday.
