Hyderabad: AIMIM Chief and Hyderabad MP, Asaduddin Owaisi on Friday strongly criticised the alleged remarks made by a Sambhal DSP during a security review meeting held at the Sambhal Kotwali police station on Wednesday.
In a viral video, DSP Kuldeep Singh was seen addressing residents ahead of Eid on Wednesday.
During the meeting, Singh warned people against protesting or reacting to developments in the conflict.
He said, "many people are getting worked up about the war between Iran and Israel, and they're trying to interfere. They're beating their chests. Brother, if you have so much trouble, then you should board a plane and go to Iran and fight on Iran's behalf."
Meanwhile, responding to the viral remarks, Owaisi called them unacceptable, he said, “I saw a video yesterday, there is a DSP sir, who calls a meeting with Muslims and tells them, what audacity do you have, why are you getting itchy about Iran? Iran, Israel, America are fighting, what do you have to do with it? If you protest against it we will punish you. Why do you come on roads and do namaz? We won’t tolerate this. We will jail you, and if you are so bothered, go to Iran. I’ll tell this DSP guy, this country isn’t your father’s property.”
Owaisi further emphasised the constitutional rights of citizens, noting, “freedom of expression is a fundamental right under Article 19. DSP, you’re speaking in Benjamin Netanyahu’s language. If tomorrow someone protests in support of Israel, you will be the first to support, won’t you? The Constitution, through Schedule Seven, entrusts Parliament with foreign policy, national security, and defense. What right does an officer have to override that?”
“And we have the right to ask Modi, why did you go to meet Netanyahu just two days before the attack on Iran? Why were you feeling stomach pain? Why did Modi go? Because Netanyahu, who carried out genocide against seventy thousand Palestinians, had been completely isolated on the international stage,” he added.
He also questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s diplomatic engagement with Israel, asking, “Why did Modi meet Netanyahu just two days before the attacks on Iran? Near the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, there is India House, maintained by an Ansari family from Western UP for 125 years. Modi could have visited there, but instead met the team of FAUDA. This shows a clear disregard for citizens’ sentiments and heritage.”
Speaking regarding the award presented to PM Modi at the Israeli Parliament, he asked, “they don’t give out any awards there because they don’t have any awards to give. So, they just made up an award right there and put it around the neck of our PM. Now they’re happy, and he’s (PM) happy too. Think about it, this award isn’t even real, they just gave it to you to make you (the public) happy.”
