New Delhi: As the deadline for filing nominations for the Haryana Assembly polls approaches, the anticipated alliance between the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) remains unresolved. AAP Haryana President Sushil Gupta announced that the party would release a list of 90 candidates if no deal is reached by the end of the day.
This sentiment was echoed by AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, who stated that the party has completed its candidate selection process for all legislative assembly seats in Haryana. On the possibility of an AAP-Congress alliance, Singh remarked, "Sandeep Pathak and Sushil Gupta have already made statements on this. We are fully prepared, and as soon as we receive permission from the party or our national president Arvind Kejriwal, we will announce the list and move forward with the elections."
Singh further said that AAP is a national party with a strong organization in Haryana, and any decision regarding the alliance will be made in consultation with Arvind Kejriwal.
With just three days left before the September 12 deadline for filing nominations, the AAP has been in frequent discussions with Congress to form an electoral alliance. Voting for the 90-member Haryana Legislative Assembly is scheduled for October 5, with the counting of votes on October 8.
