New Delhi: During the recent international delegation visit led by Indian MPs to the United States, a BJP MP reportedly faced embarrassment after meeting US President Donald Trump. The MP is also said to have been summoned by the party leadership in Delhi over this incident, reported website Parliamentarian quoting its sources.
The young BJP MP, “who was part of the group ended up in the spotlight—albeit for the wrong reasons—due to his excessive political ambition,” the report mentioned.
The report also stated that, “India’s attempt to bring global attention to the alleged threat from Pakistan sponsored terrorism has repeatedly entangled itself in new complications.”
The incident occurred during a delegation led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, which included several Indian lawmakers.
According to the Parliamentarian among them was a young BJP MP who was reportedly irked by fellow delegate Milind Deora’s successful pre-arranged meeting with Donald Trump Jr. Unwilling to be left behind or upstaged, the BJP MP then made independent efforts to arrange a similar meeting with Trump Jr., but failed. Frustrated by the inability to secure such access, the MP is said to have declared among colleagues, “Now I will meet Donald Trump himself.”
He sought to outdo him (Milind Deora) by securing a meeting with Donald Trump himself. With the help of a long-time acquaintance based in the U.S. described in the report as a figure of “mysterious conduct,” the MP managed to gain access to Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s private estate in Florida.
Mar-a-Lago, a sprawling 126-room mansion turned exclusive private club, has previously hosted high-profile leaders including former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Chinese President Xi Jinping. However, unlike those dignitaries, the young Indian MP’s introduction as someone “very close to the country’s head” reportedly failed to impress Trump. According to the Parliamentarian report, Trump’s reaction was far from warm. In keeping with his characteristic bluntness, Trump reportedly made offhand and dismissive remarks that left the MP visibly insulted.
The report describes the MP leaving the encounter deeply embarrassed, likening it to the Urdu expression, “Bade be-aabroo hokar tere kooche se hum nikle.”
Though the incident was never publicly acknowledged by the MP, word soon reached senior BJP leaders in Delhi. Quoting Sources Parliamentarian reported that the party leadership was furious and summoned the MP for a stern reprimand in front of three senior figures. At one stage, expulsion from the party was considered, but the MP was ultimately let off after offering sincere apologies and multiple pleas for forgiveness.

Ghaziabad: A 26-year-old woman from Ghaziabad has filed a complaint against her husband and in-laws, accusing them of harassment, body shaming, and demanding dowry. In her complaint, the woman alleges that her husband repeatedly told her she should resemble Bollywood actor Nora Fatehi and body-shamed her for not meeting these expectations.
The woman, a resident of Muradnagar, was married six months ago, with her family reportedly spending over Rs 76 lakh on the wedding. In addition to the lavish wedding, the woman’s family gifted her husband a Mahindra Scorpio, along with cash and jewellery. Despite these expenses, the woman claims her in-laws continued to harass her, demanding more dowry.
The complainant, whose husband is a physical education teacher at a government school, further alleges that he frequently body-shamed her, calling her “fat and ugly.” He allegedly insisted that she exercise for three hours a day, and when she failed to comply, she was deprived of food.
The situation took a darker turn when the woman found she was pregnant two months ago. According to her statement, she informed her mother-in-law, but received no response or support. The woman reportedly claims that her husband later gave her a pill, which she later identified online as being used for abortions. She alleges that when her health began to deteriorate, her in-laws sent her back to her parents’ home. After seeking medical attention, she was informed by doctors that she had suffered a miscarriage.
She also alleged that her husband frequently watched inappropriate content online and was a habitual womaniser.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Saloni Agarwal confirmed that an FIR has been filed at the women’s police station in Ghaziabad and an investigation is underway.
