NTA declares final NEET-UG results, number of toppers down to 17 from 61

New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) Friday declared the final results of controversy-ridden NEET-UG entrance exam, declaring that 17 candidates have shared the top rank, down from 61 in the revised results, while thousands of others have seen their marks and rankings change significantly.

Delhi High Court dismisses PIL against Centre’s move to observe Samvidhaan Hatya Divas

On Friday, the Delhi High Court rejected a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) challenging the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Union Government notification designating June 25 as Samvidhaan Hatya Divas (Constitution Murder Day). The day is meant to honor those who suffered and resisted the 1975 National Emergency imposed by the Government of India.

43 Sanitation worker deaths go unaddressed in Union Budget, Activist claims

Bezwada Wilson, the national convenor of Safai Karmachari Andolan, has raised concerns over the deaths of 43 sanitation workers who lost their lives while cleaning sewers and septic tanks between February and July 2024. Wilson claims that the Union Budget presented on July 23 failed to address the ongoing issue of manual scavenging and the dangerous conditions these workers face.

Heavy rains in Gurugram leave luxury cars submerged, owner criticizes authorities

Gurugram recently witnessed heavy rainfall, resulting in immense waterlogging and flooding at different points of the city. A resident in the city, going by the name Gajodhar Singh on social media, shared on Instagram a video of his luxury cars, including BMW and Mercedes, half-submerged in water. He captioned the picture saying continuous rain had ruined his luxury cars. He also hit out at the Gurugram authorities, asking what the point was of paying so many taxes "for such a lousy infrastructure" when no one comes to help.
