Court grants bail to activist Khalid Saifi, questions charge sheet against him

New Delhi: A court on Wednesday granted bail to activist Khalid Saifi here in a case related to the February riots in northeast Delhi, saying charge-sheeting him over insignificant material was total non-application of mind by the police which went to the extent of vindictiveness.

Mumbai: A magistrate, while remanding Republic TV anchor Arnab Goswami and two others to two-week judicial custody on Wednesday in a 2018 abetment to suicide case, observed that the arrests appeared to be "prima facie illegal".

Saying it wants to hear the matter "in detail", a two-member bench of the court denied Mr. Goswami's plea and has listed the matter for 3 PM Friday.
