Indian democracy passing through its 'most difficult phase': Sonia Gandhi

New Delhi: Congress president Sonia Gandhi Sunday launched a scathing attack on the government over the three farm laws, the handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, economic slowdown, and alleged atrocities against Dalits while claiming that Indian democracy is passing through its "most difficult phase".

With Kerala witnessing a spike in coronavirus infections recently, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Sunday said the state was paying the "price for gross negligence" during Onam festivities when unlocking of services along with an increase in travel for trade and tourism led to the spread of COVID-19.

Six held in Bhiwandi for lynching alleged mobile phone thief

Six people were arrested after an alleged mobile thief was lynched in Bhiwandi in Thane district on Sunday, police said. Bhiwandi Zone II deputy commissioner of police Rajkumar Shinde said the incident happened in the godown of one Kunal Doshi (32) in Parasnath Complex in the powerloom township's Wallpada area.
