Pilot killed in plane crash was former IAF fighter pilot, recipient of 'Sword of Honour' at AFA

Kozhikode: Captain Dipak Vasant Sathe was flying the plane that met the unfortunate incident at Kozhikode on Friday evening. Captain Dipak, an accomplished former India Air Force pilot lost his life along with three other passengers when the flight crash landed and overshot the runway immediately after the landing.

Flight that crash landed at Kozhikode Airport had 10 infants, 174 passengers: Air India Express

Kozhikode: Flight carrier Air India in an official statement on Friday night confirmed that there were 174 passengers, 10 infants, two pilots, and five cabin crew on board on the flight that crash-landed at the Kozhikode Airport after overshooting runaway immediately after it landed.

 

DGCA orders detailed enquiry in Kozhikode plane crash incident

India's top aviation body, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), has ordered a detailed inquiry into the Air India Express crash landing incident that took place earlier this evening after it skidded off the runway immediately after the flight with over 180 passengers on board landed at the airport.
