A group of migrants, waiting outside a Lajpat Nagar school for health screening, were sprayed with a disinfectant by an area civic body worker on Friday.


6,654 coronavirus cases in India in 24 hours in biggest one-day spike

The number of novel coronavirus infections saw the biggest spike in India with 6,654 new cases in the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 1,25,101 on Saturday, while the death toll due to the pandemic rose to 3,720 after 137 more fatalities, the Union Health Ministry said.

MHA allows employers of stranded Indians in gulf to send them back on chartered flights

The Ministry of Home Affairs on Thursday issued an order allowing employers and hiring companies abroad to send their Indian employees back to India on chartered flights. The letter stated that the order was in reference with Ministry of External Affairs’ UO Note No. 138 dated 15-05-2020 and D.O letter dated 18-05-2020 regarding repatriation of stranded Indian labourers from abroad particularly in Gulf region.
