Nirbhaya: Centre seeks dismissal of convict's plea, says ill-treatment in prison no ground for mercy

The Centre Tuesday sought dismissal of the plea of one of the four death row convicts in the Nirbhaya gang-rape and murder case against rejection of his mercy plea and said that being ill-treated in prison cannot be a ground for mercy to one who has committed such a heinous crime.
