Triple talaq bill in RS on Monday; Congress, others set to oppose it

New Delhi: The contentious triple talaq bill seeking to criminalise the practice of instant divorce among Muslims is set to be tabled in the Rajya Sabha Monday, even as the Congress has said it will not allow its passage in the present form.

Kozhikode: The IUML, a key ally of the Congress-led UDF in Kerala, Sunday said it has received a "satisfactory" explanation from its MP - P K Kunhalikutty for abstaining from the crucial discussion and voting on the 'triple talaq' bill in the Lok Sabha and that it was not contemplating any action against him.
