Annamalai likely to take national role, will not contest 2026 Tamil Nadu assembly polls: BJP sources

Chennai: Former Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai is not expected to contest the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, according to sources in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Instead, he is likely to be given a national-level role in the party, as part of an upcoming organisational reshuffle, reported India Today.
