Belthangady: In a tragic incident, a 10 year old boy identified as Mohammed Ramzeen died after being hit by a pickup vehicle near laila on Wednesday.

Ramzeen was the son of Mohammed Rafeeq, a resident of Artila in the Paranki village.
Ramzeen had reportedly been to his relative’s house in Laila during the ongoing Dasara vacation and had gone to the shop at Laila, While he was at a shop in Laila, a pickup truck from Ujire hit him as he attempted to cross the road near Laila junction. Locals rushed the seriously injured Ramzeen to the hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, a case in connection with the incident has been lodged at the Belthangady traffic police station.

Tumakuru: Two residents of Veerannanahalli village in Madhugiri taluk, Tumakuru district, were injured in a leopard attack on Thursday night. The incident occurred in Dodderi Hobali when Ramakrishnappa and Shivanna were attacked by the leopard while stepping out of their house after dinner.

The men managed to escape after the animal's roar alerted them. Both were admitted to Siddhartha Hospital in Tumakuru for treatment.

Naveen Gowda, Chairman of the District Combat Committee, has urged forest department officials to take immediate action to capture the leopard, as the attack has left local villagers in fear.
