20-year-old medical student in Mangaluru commits suicide by jumping from 6th floor of hostel
Mangaluru: A 20-year-old girl who was studying medicine in a private college of the city allegedly committed suicide on Monday morning by jumping from the sixth floor of the hostel she was staying in.
The deceased girl was identified as Prakrithi Shetty, who was an MBBS student in Mangaluru and stayed at the hostel of the college she was studying in.
Early morning on Monday, Prakrithi jumped from the sixth floor of the hostel and committed suicide, said police sources, adding that the investigation team has found a death note, where Prakrithi has written that she is taking her life out of depression.

Bantwal: SSLC student dies after electrocution
Bantwal: A 15-year-old boy died after coming into contact with an electric wire in Gadiara village on Saturday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Shaheer, son of Sharif, a resident of Neralakatte.
Shaheer, an SSLC student at Mountain View English Medium School, Puttur, had gone to his grandfather’s house in nearby Gadiara village during the school holidays. He came into contact with an electric wire and died at the scene.
He is survived by his parents, a brother, two sisters, and family members.
