Udupi: 20-year-old pillion rider dies in truck-bike collision on NH 66
Kaup: A 20-year-old man, who was riding pillion on a motorbike, was killed as a truck collided with the two-wheeler at Katpadi Junction on National Highway 66 on Friday morning.
The victim of the accident has been identified as Sushikshit, a resident of Bolje.
The pillion rider, who had a catering assignment, was traveling from Udyavara to Padubidri. He fell on the road as the truck collided with the two-wheeler and was grievously injured. He is learned to have died on the way to the hospital.
The rider of the motorbike Jaydeep was also injured in the accident, the sources said, adding that he has been admitted to the hospital for treatment.
Kaup Police, who registered a case, paid a visit to the accident spot during the investigation.
