Surathkal: A young man was reportedly stabbed in Janata Colony, Surathkal, on Thursday night. The victim, identified as Muhammad Shafi, a 35-year-old resident of Kana Colony, was allegedly attacked by a 24-year-old individual named Twahir, who also resides in the same area.
According to Shafi's statement to the police, the incident occurred following an argument between him and Twahir near the colony's Masjid on Thursday night. During the altercation, Twahir allegedly stabbed Shafi with a knife he had brought along in his car.
As a result of the assault, Shafi sustained serious injuries to his hand and back. He has been admitted to a private hospital in Mangalore for medical treatment.
The Surathkal Police Station has registered a case in connection with the incident and is conducting further investigations into the matter.

Raichur: Four people, including three students, were killed when a tyre of the Cruiser vehicle they were traveling in burst, resulting in the vehicle rolling sideways on the stretch near Arginamara Camp in Sindhanur taluk on Tuesday night.
The deceased have been identified as Hayavadana (18), Sujayedra (22) and Abhilash (20), who were students of the Guru Sarvabhauma Samskrita Vidyapeetha in Mantralaya, Andhra Pradesh, and cruiser driver Kamsali Shiva (24). Ten other travelers were seriously injured and are being treated at the Sindhanur Taluk Hospital.
The accident occurred while the group was traveling from Mantralaya at attend an event for the worship of Narahari Theertha near Anegundi in Koppal district. The vehicle tyre burst near the Sindhanur Vaishnavi Devi Gudi Cross on the Raichur-Sindhanur main road. As a result, the driver lost control of the vehicle, which toppled on the road.
A case has been registered at the Sindhanur Traffic Police Station in this regard. The officers are investigating.
