Mangaluru( Press Release): The 72nd Republic Day of India was celebrated with gaiety and patriotic flavour at Bearys Knowledge campus on 26th January 2021 in the morning hours.

The chief Guest of the event was Dr. A.M Khan, Professor & Former Registrar, Mangalore University, Mangalore. Dr. A.M Khan, Dr. S.I Manjur Basha, Principal, BIT-Mangalore and Ar. Ashok Mendonca, Principal of BEADS hoisted of the national tri colour flag. Followed by national anthem.

Principal of BIT spoke on this occasion and told unity and integrity is must for the development of the country and he also urged the people to follow the Standard Operating Procedures(SOPs) specially during the Covid time. He narrated, The Constitution lays down a broad framework of the fundamental political code, structure, powers, procedures and duties of all Government institutions and also states the fundamental rights and duties of all citizens of India.

Dr. A.M Khan delivered the speech and shared the data related to the constitution of India he said, when the Indian Constitution came into effect thus making India one of the biggest democracies in the world. It was on this day when India was declared as a sovereign, socialist, secular, democratic republic.

Realising the need of having an Indian Constitution, a Drafting Committee was set up with Dr Bheem Rao Ambedkar being appointed as its chairman. The sole objective of setting this committee was to draft the Constitution of India, which would be the supreme law of India.

The committee worked tirelessly for many months and submitted their first draft of the Constitution on November 4, 1947 to the Constituent Assembly. It took exactly 2 years, 11 months and 18 days to finally adopt the Constitution with the necessary amendments.

Dr.Ashok Mendonca delivered the vote of thanks.

The ceremony took place in the presence of various Heads of department, Staff and Students Engineering, Architecture and Diploma. and told the importance of having Constitution. Program concluded at 10 AM.

Bengaluru: The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation will operate 1000 additional special services in view of the Christmas festival.

In addition to the existing schedule, the special services will run on 19.12.2025, 20.12.2025 and 24.12.2025. Further, special buses will be operated from various places of intra & Interstate places to Bengaluru on 26.12.2025 & 28.12.2025.

Special buses will be exclusively operated from Bengaluru Kempegowda Bus Station to Dharmastala, Kukkesubramanya, Shivamogga, Hassan, Mangaluru, Kundapura, Shringeri, Horanadu, Davangere, Hubbali, Dharwad, Belagavi, Vijayapura, Gokarna, Sirsi, Karwar, Raichur, Kalaburagi, Ballari, Koppala, Yadgir, Bidar, Tirupathi, Vijayawada, Hyderabad and other places.

Special buses from Mysuru Road Bus Station will be exclusively operated towards Mysuru, Hunsur, Piriyapatna, Virajpet, Kushalanagar, Madikeri.

The corporation has also announced a discount of 5 per cent on the fare if four or more passengers book tickets under a single reservation. A discount of 10 per cent will be extended on return journey tickets if onward and return tickets are booked simultaneously.

In addition to the above, special buses will be operated from all Taluk/District Bus Stands in the jurisdiction of KSRTC based on the traffic needs.
