Mangaluru: I came to know that an indefinite strike of Dakshina Kannada district school vehicles association has been planned from July 11. If they conduct strike, legal action would be taken against them, said city police commissioner Sandeep Patil.
The Karnataka High Court has directed the police department to keep vigil against carrying more students in school vehicles than the permitted strength. Strike should not be staged violating the court order. If the association disobeys the warning, it would be inevitable for the police to take action, he warned.
The association office-bearers meeting was convened at the police Commissioner's office here on Wednesday. Association leaders were given the information about the court verdict and notice was also served, he said.
Organisers should follow the court direction and ensure safety of school children. They should withdraw their strike as it would affect the children, Mangaluru police commissioner Sandeep Patil warned.
