Moodbidri,May 1: Alvas PU College has achieved better performance this time in the second PUC results, which were announced on Monday.
A total of 5,825 candidates appeared for the examinations, among which 5,764 students have passed by bringing over all pass percentage of the institution to 98.95.
Alvas’ Chetan Pai from Commerce department has bagged third rank in state-level with 593 marks; Lakshmi Narayana Reddy stood fourth in the state by scoring 592 marks, while Bharat Gajanana Hegde and Prithvi Ganapathi Hegde scored 591 and achieved 5th spot in the state.
In Science, Milisha Rodrigues stood fourth in state by securing 593 marks and Varsha KS, Harish DG and Shweta Hegde scored 592 each and bagged state-level fifth place.
In Arts, Kshetramayyam Sanjay Singh 568, Hema PB 564, blind students Satwik Shetty 540, Dikshit 519 and Ankita Shetty scored 497 marks.

Dubai: Smoke was seen rising from an area near the United States Consulate in Dubai, according to witness accounts cited by Reuters.
There was no immediate official confirmation on the extent of damage or whether there were any casualties in the incident.
Earlier, the US embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia’s capital, was also attacked. Authorities reported damage to the premises, but no casualties were recorded.
The developments come amid heightened tensions in the region, with Iran continuing to target US interests in the Middle East following deadly attacks launched on Saturday by Israel and the United States.
