Another suicide reported at Udupi hotel where Santhosh Patil died by suicide
Udupi: The Shambhavi hotel at Udupi, in which contractor Santhosh Patil had died by suicide, has reported another case of suicide, it is learned.
The deceased has been identified as Sharan Raj (31), a resident of Konaje.
Reportedly, Sharan Raj had hung himself in one of the hotel rooms at Shambhavi Hotel, a complaint reveals. Failure in a romantic relationship is being suspected as the reason behind the suicide.
It is learned that the Hotel owner had undertaken a ritual worship ceremony at the Hotel and changed the establishment’s name recently.
The Udupi city police arrived at the site and undertook an inquiry, it is learned.

CPI stalwart Nallakannu dead
Chennai (PTI): Veteran leader of the CPI, R Nallakannu died here on Wednesday, the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital said.
He was aged about 101, party sources said.
A hospital bulletin said, despite intensive care, he passed away at 1.55 PM on February 25, 2026 following failure of all vital organs.
