Mangaluru, May 18: An auto driver who was going to masjid after parking his auto is allegedly attacked by three staff of a bus belonging to Uttar Pradesh, in the city on Friday.

The victim is identified as Shihabuddin (28) of Jeppu and he was admitted to Wenlock Hospital. He has parked his auto at Railway Station auto stand near Hampankatta masjid at around 1 pm and was going to masjid for prayer. At this time, as a bus belonging to Uttar Pradesh (UP 75 AT 4236) was on the road, he has requested the driver to park the bus on the roadside. Suddenly, the driver, conductor and cleaner have jointly assaulted him and dragged him into the bus where two persons have tied his hands and another person assaulted him with iron rod. The driver was speaking in Hindi. They have knife and rods. Observing his scarf, they have insulted him and assaulted, he alleged.

Shihabuddin sustained injuries on shoulder, nose, chest and stomach. He said that he has informed Pandeshwara police station.

Chamarajanagar: In a tragic incident, two men lost their lives due to electrocution near Ayyanpur village in Chandakavadi hobli on Wednesday. The victims, identified as Nagendra and Mallesh, were killed instantly when a live overhead electric wire snapped and came into contact with them.

The men were reportedly riding a bike towards a farm on the outskirts of Ayyanpur when the mishap occurred. Ramasamudra Police have registered a case and visited the scene to conduct an investigation.

Officials from CHESCOM (Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation) also visited the site to assess the situation.
