Auto rickshaw topples on road near Vitla; driver killed on the spot
Vitla: The 35-year-old driver of an auto rickshaw died on the spot after the vehicle toppled as the driver lost control while turning on the road at Manila near Vitla late Monday night.
The deceased driver, Sudarshan, was a resident of Subrahmanya Panja.
He had been traveling with a passenger in the auto rickshaw on Monday night and had reached Manila Bavalimoole, where he lost control over the rickshaw, which toppled on the road. Sudarshan was grievously injured and died on the spot.
The passenger is learned to have sustained minor injuries in the accident.
A case has been filed at the Vitla Police Station and investigation is on.

IPL: Disciplined MI bowl out KKR for modest 169
Mumbai, May 3: Jasprit Bumrah was at his best as Mumbai Indians bowled out Kolkata Knight Riders for a modest 169 in an Indian Premier League match here on Friday.
Sri Lankan medium pacer Nuwan Thushara (3/42) blew the top-order while Jasprit Bumrah (3/18) was menacing at the back end while skipper Hardik Pandya (2/44) also got a couple of wickets.
For KKR, Venkatesh Iyer (70 off 52) and Manish Pandey (42 off 31) made significant contributions to take the visitors to a decent but sub-par total.
