Mangaluru, August 21: As the Bakrid prayer would be conducted at Bavutagudde Idgah Maidan here on August 22, the Police Commissioner and the District Additional Magistrate has issued an order diverting the traffic movement in the city from 6.30 am to 10 am.

During this period, the vehicles moving towards Dr Ambedkar Circle from Bavutagudde, should take KSR Road to reach their destination. But the Commissioner has banned the movement of vehicles between City Centre and Bavutagudde, and City Centre Parking lot and Bavutagudde. Vehicle parking is allowed on the left side of the road from Bavutagudde city central library to Vijaya Bank.

Security is beefed up around the Idgah Maidan and traffic movement was diverted temporarily as part of the law and order situation during the prayer. These restrictions would not apply to the vehicles of VIPs, police and emergency services, a press statement from the Commissioner said.
