Bakrid: Special offer from Big Bazaar
Mangaluru, August 21: Big Bazaar has announced special offers on the occasion of Bakrid, the symbol of sacrifice.
The Big Bazar announced that it would give Shimla apple at Rs 129 per kg, mosambi at Rs 39, pomegranate Rs 59.90, onion Rs 22 and Nilgiris ghee will be given at Rs 399 against MRP Rs 580 per litre.
Talda Basmati rice will be given at Rs 299 for 5 kg against Rs 650 MRP and Koryo 32”LED TV will be available at Rs 13,990 against Rs 22,990. In the same way, Pigeon 3 burner glass top gas stove plus 3 ltr pressure cooker and non-stick kadai will be sold at Rs 3,999 as a special price against the Rs 7,985, according to a press release from Big Bazaar.

J'khand: 4 minors detained for 'raping' girl at birthday party
Ranchi (PTI): Four minors were detained for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl at a birthday party in Jharkhand’s Ranchi, police said on Saturday.
The incident took place on March 31 within the Namkum police station limits. An FIR in this regard was lodged on April 16 based on the girl’s statement, they said.
“All five, including the victim, were friends, and the girl had gone to attend the birthday party of one of those detained. At the party, the accused consumed alcohol and allegedly raped her,” said Ramnarayan Singh, the officer in-charge of Namkum police station.
“The four, aged between 15 and 17 years, have been detained and the medical examination of the girl is underway,” Singh said.
Further investigation is underway.
