Banglagudde: Second theft within 24 hours, gang storm into house – robs cash, jewelry
Karkala: On Saturday, another house was theft and robbers made away with money and gold ornaments near Banglegudde junction. This is the second such incident taken place in Karkal taluk within 24 hours.
Incident details
A gang of robbers stormed into a house and brutally attacked the couple when they were deep asleep. They robbed god ornaments worth 21 sovereigns, and Rs. 2.5 lakh cash.
It is learned that the robbers conducted a detailed search of the house belonged to Sanjeev Naik, for cash and valuables in all corners of the house, but they did not get anything. Frustrated by this, the robbers took away the silver plate used for pooja.
In both the theft cases, the doors were broke-opened by an iron rod.
Police have started the investigation.

Two men suspected of planning blasts in Hyderabad arrested
Vizianagaram (Andhra Pradesh) (PTI): Andhra Pradesh Police and their Telangana counterparts held a joint operation that led to the arrest of two men suspected of planning blasts in Hyderabad.
Siraj Ur Rehman (29) from Vizianagaram was detained following a tip-off. Explosives, including ammonia, sulphur, and aluminium powder, were seized from his premises during a search, police said on Sunday.
"In the course of the investigation, Rehman revealed details leading to the detention of another individual, Syed Sameer (28), from Hyderabad," police added.
Both accused are in custody and will be produced before a court, police said, urging public cooperation and vigilance.
