Bantwal: Minor boy who was booked under stringent POCSO Act for allegedly sending obscene content to a minor girl on messaging app, was granted bail on Wednesday.

Earlier, a video of Bajrang Dal leader Dinesh and three others thrashing the boy had gone viral in local social media groups after which Dinesh and others were arrested by police following a complaint by the boy’s family in May last week.

The boy was later booked under POCSO, arrested, and sent to Juvenile book based on a complaint filed by a girl claiming he had sent explicit content to her on messaging app.

The lawyers of the boy on Wednesday evening confirmed that the boy was granted bail by the court.

More details on this development are awaited. The story will be updated with fresh inputs as and when available.

"It was a hoax threat," he said.
