Mangalore: The Bearys Group has officially announced the grand launch of its much-awaited mixed-use development project, 'Bearys Turning Point', in Deralakatte, Mangalore. The announcement was made at a press conference held in the city, where Nand Kumar (Retail Head, Bearys Group), Bapu Nainar (PRO), Kodi Mohammed Iqbal, and Prafulla (Assistant Marketing) shared details about the landmark project.
The new development promises to redefine urban living and leisure in one of Mangalore’s fastest-growing areas. According to the officials, Bearys Turning Point is envisioned as a comprehensive destination combining premium apartments, diverse retail outlets, and a vibrant family entertainment experience under one roof.
At the heart of the project is a state-of-the-art Family Entertainment Centre (FEC) that includes a modern 4-screen multiplex, a well-designed multi-cuisine food court with premium dining ambience, and a range of attractions. The entertainment zone features interactive games, a four-lane bowling alley, the region’s largest indoor climbing wall, bumper cars, indoor cricket, and a dedicated play area for children.
The design of the entertainment space integrates the multiplex, FEC, and food court into one seamless layout, with high ceilings and expansive glazing that offer a blend of indoor and outdoor experiences. The space is further enhanced by panoramic views of the surrounding hills, which shift in appearance from day to night, creating two distinct visual atmospheres.
The name 'Bearys Turning Point' ,the team explained, reflects both its physical location at a turning on the main road and its symbolic meaning — representing progress, transformation, and new beginnings for the region.
The project also holds added significance due to its location in the constituency of U.T. Khader, Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. The Bearys Group stated that the mall aligns with Khader's vision of transforming Mangalore constituency into a world-class city, and the group is proud to play its part in contributing to this larger dream.
Though initially scheduled to open in 2020, the project was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, with work nearing completion, the Bearys Group is ready to welcome the public for the grand launch on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 4:30 PM at Bearys Turning Point, Deralakatte.
On opening day, the mall will host free games for all visitors at its gaming hub. The retail complex will house more than 45 shops, and the next phase will see the opening of a sprawling hypermarket along with flagship outlets of leading global retail brands. The Mall also has separate prayer rooms for men and women inside the premises.
The management noted that over 25,000 students who reside and study in the Deralakatte education hub, along with residents of nearby areas including from neighbouring Kerala, will benefit from the mall's presence.
The mall will remain open until 11 PM daily, with the last screening at the multiplex beginning at 10:45 PM. The Bearys Group has extended an open invitation to the public, and all well-wishers to be part of this milestone event.

New Delhi: The Congress party, which recently launched its “Vote Chori” (vote theft) campaign demanding transparency in voter rolls, has released a promotional video on Instagram featuring actor Kay Kay Menon.
The video was shared with the caption: “Himmat Singh kuch keh rahe hain, jaldi se kar aao! Band karo”, translated as “Himmat Singh is saying something, go and do it quickly! Stop it.” It was followed by instructions to join the campaign: “To join the campaign — click the link in the bio or give a missed call to 9650003420.”
Himmat Singh is the name of the intelligence officer character portrayed by Kay Kay Menon in the Hotstar Specials series Special Ops.
The “Vote Chori” campaign, led by Congress Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, alleges large-scale manipulation in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, particularly in Karnataka’s Bangalore Central constituency, through fake voter entries, duplicate names, and invalid addresses. The campaign portal, votechori.in, enables citizens to access alleged evidence, report voter list discrepancies, and receive a digital certificate supporting the demand for machine-readable digital voter rolls.
The Election Commission has rejected the allegations as “false and misleading” and has asked Gandhi to either provide a signed declaration with supporting evidence under the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960, or issue a public apology. The BJP has described the campaign as a political stunt.
