Bhatkal: Mother and son died of cardiac arrest on same day
Bhatkal, July 03: In a shocking incident, a man died of cardiac arrest after seeing the body of his mother on the same day on Muhiyuddin street at Madina colony in the town on Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Shahar Banu Malpa (80) and her son Fakki Ismail Malpa (56). It is said that Shahar Banu Malpa died of cardiac arrest at her house at 2 pm. When Ismail Malpa came to see the body of his mother, he suffered cardiac arrest and collapsed. Suddenly, he was rushed to a Mangaluru hospital. But he breathed his last on the way to the hospital, it is said.
The last rites of both mother and son were held at the Jamia Masjid premises on Tuesday.

US Consulate in Dubai reportedly attacked
Dubai: Smoke was seen rising from an area near the United States Consulate in Dubai, according to witness accounts cited by Reuters.
There was no immediate official confirmation on the extent of damage or whether there were any casualties in the incident.
Earlier, the US embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia’s capital, was also attacked. Authorities reported damage to the premises, but no casualties were recorded.
The developments come amid heightened tensions in the region, with Iran continuing to target US interests in the Middle East following deadly attacks launched on Saturday by Israel and the United States.
