Kasaragod, November 20: After calling on Kerala Devaswom Minister for dialogues, the BJP leaders engaged in verbal duals and staged a protest at Kanhangad on Tuesday afternoon. Now, the police took eight BJP leaders including district president into custody.
Devaswom Minister Kadannappally Surendran who came to Kanhangad to inaugurate a state level cooperative week valedictory programme, stayed at an inspection bungalow. At this time, BJP district president K Srikanth took appointment to meet the Minister and have a discussion and he was given appointment. After calling on the Minister, Srikanth and seven other BJP leaders, instead of discussing the issues, engaged in verbal duals and staged a protest. Later, the police took them into custody.
Police took eight BJP leaders including its district president K Srikanth, leaders A Velayudhan, Sudhama Gosada, N Baburaj, Rajesh and Pradeep into custody.

Dubai/Abu Dhabi: Residents and visitors across the United Arab Emirates received a fresh emergency alert on their mobile phones stating that the situation in the country is currently safe.
The message, issued by the Ministry of Interior (MOI), thanked people for their cooperation and reassured them that conditions were stable.
“Thank you for your cooperation. We reassure you that the situation is currently safe. You may resume your normal activities while continuing to remain cautious and take the necessary precautions, and to follow official instructions. (MOI),” the alert read.
The notification was sent in both Arabic and English through the country’s emergency alert system.
The advisory comes after earlier alerts warning of potential missile threats amid rising regional tensions. Authorities have urged the public to stay cautious and follow official guidance.
