Udupi: The district borders have been sealed due to a large number of corona cases coming from outside the district. Similarly, public transportation has been suspended for 14 days as the number of corona cases is increasing in the district, Udupi Deputy Commissioner G. Jagadish on Saturday confirmed.
A large number of passengers, without any safety measures, were being allowed to commute in public transport services. More than 25 cases have been filed in this regard. Even though, people, bus owners, drivers, and conductors were not following the rules properly. Therefore, the bus services have been suspended, the Dc said.
The district administration has taken this step to protect the health of the public from novel coronavirus. The bus service would resume after June 29, DC Jagadish said in a statement.
